Microsoft certainly has a long hill to climb in order to challenge Apple's dominance of the digital audio market, but I saw something today that really showed me how far MS is willing to go. Anyone who regularly follows the expensive gadget scene is familiar with Microsoft's marketing slogan for the Zune, "Welcome to the Social", which tries to draw attention to the Zune's wireless (and DRM encumbered) music sharing features. Attempting to follow the "Sex Sells" axiom, is Microsoft leveraging a double entendre with the word "social"? Let's look at the banner ad I saw today while reading Gizmodo during lunch....
